About the Director
Director K.C. Conlan received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from the University of Massachusetts. She teaches vocal music at The Common School in Amherst and has also taught in the Brookline, Amherst and Northampton public schools and at UMass. She has advanced training in the Orff and Kodaly approaches, and has directed the children’s program at the Western Wind Ensemble Singing Workshops at Smith College. K.C. has served as Repertoire & Standards Chair for Children’s Choirs for the Eastern Division of the American Choral Directors Association.
About the Interim Director
Reka Peterson grew up in Hungary, where she received her musical education in the famed Hungarian music schools and was trained as a violinist. Her most cherished musical experiences were singing in choral groups during her childhood and adolescence. She is a graduate of Vermont College and also attended the Kodaly Music Institute at New England Conservatory. She taught music for 8 years at the Sage School in Foxborough where she worked with young singers ages 4-14.
About the Accompanist
Joyce Crouch holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from the University of Georgia and a Master of Music from the University of Illinois. She is recently retired from Holyoke Community College, where she directed the Chamber Vocal Ensemble and accompanied the College Chorale. She has taught piano for many years, is an active concert performer and plays in the English country dance band Pleasures of the Town.
