Hampshire Young People's Chorus

Our singers performed beautifully at the Abbey Chapel with the Hampshire Choral Society on November 22nd in Abbey Chapel; the "Hallelujah Chorus" was especially thrilling!

Thirty-four of our singers appeared in Old Deerfield Productions' A Christmas Carol at the Academy of Music last weekend. What an exciting project that was! We created a dramatic opening processing from the back of the house singing "Masters in This Hall" with handbells. Four other carols followed, and we made subsequent appearances as carolers outside of Scrooge's counting-house and as eerie offstage voices during the scene with the Cratchits. We enjoyed the fancy production aspects of the show - the fog machine, the trap door (the same one used by Harry Houdini!), the scrim and special lighting effects, the magnificent costumes. The actors marveled at what a talented and disciplined crew we were!

Our next concert will be at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art on January 30. We'll present two half-hour kid-friendly shows at 2:00 and 3:00.
